Hello! My name is Arun. Although I am from a Tamil family, I was born in the United States and raised speaking English at home. As a result, I didn't understand more than a few words of spoken Tamil until my mid-twenties.

Ever since I was a child, I've made many attempts to learn the language of my family and ancestors. But the lack of resources made the path forward especially challenging, particularly when moving past the "early beginner" phase where most textbooks leave off. Stubborn persistence, and the loving support of my Tamil-speaking wife, have helped enormously.

While I am still a Tamil learner, I want to help others learn spoken Tamil more easily than I did. So, I'm using this site as a place to organize some simple resources.
